Extra Charges

Our nursery meals are cooked from scratch onsite by our cook, meals are nutritionally balanced and dietary needs for all children are catered for. All produce is sourced from local companies such as Benson’s fruit & veg and Pioneer.

We are part of the Healthy Happy Foundations and positively promote healthy eating and education around food. We also have our Smile for Life award. Unfortunately, we get no funding from the government to cover meals and snacks therefore this charge comes to parents, we are very conscious about the cost-of-living crisis and always strive to make the cost for meals as little as possible so that the financial burden for families is minimal. Due to the number of children attending nursery who have serious food allergies we will not be allowing parents to send in children’s own lunches or snacks as we would not be able to ensure children’s safety with regards to cross contamination, storage would also be an issue.

Consumables

The Government now requires the consumable charge to be voluntary. However, these charges are vital for maintaining high-quality resources and a clean, safe environment for your children and for the many reasons above. The 75p/ £1.50p per session is vital and helps cover the cost of essential items like art supplies, stationery, cleaning

materials, and hygiene products. This ensures a continuous supply of the above products, enhanced learning experiences, and better hygiene and safety. It also streamlines costs for parents and allows us to choose high-quality, sustainable options.
